It has been a while since I have blogged so I guess I will start with what is still so fresh in my head.
On November 29th we were moving into our new home so we were constantly back and forth between both places. I picked the boys up from school and let them play outside with the neighbor kids, between me and the neighbor watching the kids they were in good hands and always being watched. I needed to wash Jared's bedding because he had accident the prior night but Brandon wanted to take the washer and dryer to the new place. At 6 o'clock I left the boys with Josey and went 2 blocks away, threw one load in the washer and headed back home. Not even gone 5 minutes and down the road from the my house I get a call from Josey saying Tony had been hit by a truck so I called Rickman since he is a medic and he headed over. I pulled over to my house and there were cops and medical crews and neighbors everywhere. I saw Tony's shoes under the truck and lost it, I thought he was under the truck still but little did I know he was taken inside the house. Brandon made it home from work right after I showed up and ran inside, I was till frozen in my yard. I went inside after a nurse practitioner that live 3 houses away from me said he looked really good and was doing fine considering what had just happened. Tony was all bloody and on a stretcher with a neck brace on. I told Tony that his momma was there and that I loved his so much, he started crying for me and that was hard because I couldn't hold him and sooth him like mommies are supposed to. I had plans on riding in the ambulance with him but he was air lifted to a hospital 30 miles away. Tony left and Brandon and I were trying to leave to meet him at the Scott and White hospital but the cops were questioning us so we had to stay for a few minutes longer. Tony had a seizures right after he was hit, in the bedroom and in the ambulance and that was really scary. We got to the hospital and Tony was passed out asleep but was to be expected. He was in the hospital for 3 days having Nero checks every 2 hours because he was acting, well like a child would when he is hit by a truck. Tony has 5 cat scan and 8 mri's the first 2 days he was there and everything checked out fine with him.
Now with the details. The kid, yes I did say KID, 17 to be exact. The boy didn't see Tony on his like bike riding home ( directly acrossed the street) and he hit him. The kid drug Tony 48 feet and didn't realize he had hit a child so when he got out of the truck he forgot to put it in park and continues to drag him about 2 feet. Had Tony not been on the bike he would have died but because he was on the bike it kept the truck tire from putting direct pressure on his head. Tony was knocked out instantly but woke up quickly after he was hit.
This is something I never though would happen to me or my child, my youngest most pliable child even and I cant even begin to describe the emotions that to this day still runs through my head, all it takes is a one blink and I am so so so thankful that I still have my little guy around and he is doing fine. The truck that hit Tony has a FORD so we all say that Tony was built FORD tough. Here are some picture of the accident but they may not be in order
